FORT WAYNE, Ind.--Nov. 10--Pat Miller, president and co-owner of Vera Bradley Designs, was named 1997 Indiana Business Leader of the Year by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

Miller was honored during the chamber's annual awards dinner last week. She was chosen for her accomplishments as an entrepreneur and businesswoman and her concern for the community.

Miller and Barbara Baekgaard founded the Fort Wayne-based company in 1982. Its selections of quilted cotton luggage, handbags, accessories, tabletop and ladies and children's clothing is sold in gift shops throughout the United States and abroad.
