NEW YORK -- Powering its way through another strong quarter, Intimate Brands Inc. said Wednesday that third-quarter earnings increased 30.3 percent to $35.4 million, or 14 cents a share.

In the year-ago quarter, the company earned $27.2 million, or 11 cents a share.

Sales for the three months ended Nov. 1 gained 15.8 percent to $689.9 million from $596.9 million.

Gross margins jumped to 36.1 percent of sales from 32.5 percent.
