BBC Scotland was yesterday accused of causing 'a national poverty of aspiration' by a member of the body Alex Salmond set up to probe Scottish broadcasting.
In an extraordinary attack, broadcaster Murray Grigor said the BBC's populist approach to programming north of the Border has pushed culture off the schedules almost entirely.
Mr Grigor, a member of the Scottish Broadcasting Commission (SBC) set up by the SNP to plot a way forward for TV north of the Border, said: 'BBC Scotland is more than negligent: I think it's leeching our culture.'
