SAN FRANCISCO | The New York Mets placed first baseman Carlos Delgado on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with an impingement of his right hip.
The move is retroactive to May 11, the slugger's last game. Delgado is to be re-evaluated early this week. It's unclear whether he will opt to have surgery.
Delgado is hitting .298 with four home runs and 23 RBIs.
