Supporters of the Auto Choice Reform Act (H.R. 2021 and S. 625) claim that they are offering consumers a choice of auto insurance. But a close reading of the legislation reveals that the "choice" being offered is really no choice at all.
This is because consumers have no right to receive the information they need to make an informed decision on insurance coverage. If this bill becomes law, millions of Americans might be lured into accepting no-fault coverage because they are never told what they give up to receive it.
