Commissioners are appointed

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced the appointment Friday of five city commissioners, three of whom have already been confirmed by the Los Angeles City Council.

The nominees awaiting confirmation are John Kim to the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners and Paul W. Sweeney Jr. to the Board of Civil Service Commissioners.

The council previously confirmed Sophia Chang to the West Los Angeles Area Planning Commission; Javier Lujan to the Quality and Productivity Commission; and Jaime Rodriguez to the Board of Transportation Commissioners.
