Investors, still raw-nerved and jittery, pulled oil shares down with the broader stock market last week, leading share prices of the top 10 oil and gas company gainers to show only moderate movement while decliners sank more sub- stantially.
Earnings announcements, which have slowed to a trickle, continued to affect share price movements as did actual and rumored acquisitions.
The top gainer of the week was Wainoco Oil Corp., which hit a 52-week high on Friday, highlighting an 11.5% gain for the week. The company's shares have not looked back since the company announced in late October that it had made a profit.
