Srinagar, May. 18 -- As the self made holy ice Shivlingam in the Amarnath cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas has been fully formed, the authorities have decided not to allow any pilgrim before the official commencement of the two-month-long pilgrimage from June 7.
The yatra would conclude on Raksha Bandhan day on August 5.
The chairman of the breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani has asked Kashmiris to extend all help to pilgrims during the yatra. However, he was critical of extending the yatra period to two months and said it should be limited to 15 days to save the environment.
