Manila, May 18 (PNA) -- Secretary Arthur Yap of the Department of Agriculture (DA) has assured the public that the stepped-up government efforts to bring in foreign investments in the agriculture and fisheries sector will complement - rather than undermine - initiatives to attain food security and sufficiency for Filipinos.
Yap made this assurance as he disclosed DA plans to discuss with Philippine Export Zone Authority (PEZA) officials the possibility of setting up special agro-economic zones (SAEZs) in Mindanao to help bring in foreign investments for the island's agribusiness sector.
