Saddam Hussein is a bloodthirsty dictator who has used poison gas against civilians, and even now is likely cooking up botulin, anthrax and nerve gas in basements around Baghdad. And he tells lies: to the U.N. Special Commission investigating weapons of mass destruction, to the Iraqi people, to his allies. In short, he maintains the same moral standards he did when the United States and Britain supported and armed him for the better part of a decade while he fought a bloody war of aggression and attrition against Iran.
Then he did not care about untold military casualties. Now he seems equally uncaring about the civilian casualties of the sanctions levied ...
