With Matt Tuiasosopo undergoing surgery this week to repair a problem in his throwing elbow, the shortage of third-base depth in the Seattle Mariners' organization becomes all the more evident.

Adrian Beltre presents a difficult dilemma for Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik. The high-priced veteran isn't hitting much for the M's (.215, 2 HR, 15 RBI) in their clean-up role and is the final year of his five-year, $64 million contract.
