Seattle Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu is benching third baseman Adrian Beltre for Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels, hoping a day of rest gives the veteran a chance to regroup after a difficult first six weeks to the season.
Wakamatsu said Beltre would be back in the lineup Tuesday, but declined to say if he'd slide back into his No. 4 spot in the batting order.
