The Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission took a step closer to spending its share of federal economic stimulus money Tuesday, approving a $2.3 million contract to rehabilitate a taxiway.

The low bidder was Weaver-Bailey Contractors of El Paso, Ark., which beat two other companies for the project at Little Rock National Airport, Adams Field. It will cost another $303,270 to install centerline LED lighting on the taxiway. An additional $300,000 will go toward design and engineering.

All of the money will be paid from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
