The rockfish season that opened the first of this month has not disappointed.
The party boats at the Monterey Wharf report limits of quality yellows, vermillions, blues and olives with an occasional ling cod thrown in. The limit for rockfish is 10.
The best action has been down the coast near Point Sur. The local boats are taking trips down the coast on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The local reefs in Monterey Bay from Santa Cruz to Pajaro are also producing limits to half limits. Private boaters are reporting good action using the Shimano Butterfly jig. The surf perch fishing along the local beaches ...
