Novelist Tilly Bagshawe, 35, shocked her Catholic boarding school by becoming pregnant at 17. She was expelled, but she still managed to take her A-levels and win a place at Cambridge University, where she went as a single mother with one-year-old Persephone (now known as Sefi) in tow. She and Sefi's father broke up while she was pregnant, and he has not played a part in Sefi's upbringing.
After university, Tilly became a successful headhunter in London, where she met banker Robin Nydes. They moved to Los Angeles and married in 2002. While pregnant with their son Zac in 2004, Tilly wrote her debut novel, Adored, which went straight on to the New York Times ...
