The closest thing to a frontier war without the shooting is happening in Lake Victoria - one of the world's biggest takes, often described as an inland sea. The hostilities, confined right now to bellicose gesturing, flag flying, fist shaking and insults, are the result of long-simmering differences over the ownership of a scrap of land in the lake called Migingo island.
