Forty years ago this week, Wrigley Field was demolished.
Saturday, Mike Garcia was continuing his efforts to help build it back up.
There are a couple of storylines to follow here.
For the first, we flash back to what used to be one of the premier sports facilities in Los Angeles, between San Pedro and Avalon bordered by the row of homes on 41st and 42nd Place, about a mile east and on the other side of the Harbor Freeway from the Coliseum.
The Wrigley Field built on that lot in 1925, and given its name by owner Phillip Wrigley a year before he did so with the ballpark in Chicago, was called the "newest ...
