Dec. 6--The old environmental slogan of "Think globally act locally" now can be reversed for businesses facing the new economy, a consultant told regional business people Friday in Grand Forks.
Robert Mathieson, a trade policy consultant to a number of American, Canadian and Asian high-technology companies, said businesses need to be out there in the global market, but look for regional alliances to make it more productive.
"The new economic units cross national and international borders," Mathieson said. "And the nature of these units is that they are regional. You have to act globally and think locally."
