Kochi, May. 23 -- Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today opined that the media, especially the electronic media, should be more responsible and cautious in airing news and views through various programmes.
Addressing a gathering after distributing Television Chamber of Kerala awards here, he said ''news channels should handle news dissemination carefully and with more responsibility as they could create ripples in the society.''
''In this era of 24-hour new channels, the people concerned never bother to cross check the facts, before putting the news on the scroll as flash news,'' he alleged.
