The women business owners who gathered for lunch at an exclusive dining club on a dreary February day were tired.
Tired of the constant television news drumbeat about the poor economy. Tired of customers acting as if they were at a wake, sympathetically patting their arms and asking, "Are you OK? How's your business?"
Their businesses and others in the community are doing great and the public ought to know it, the women said.
"I have not really talked to very many people who are saying it's horrible," said Nicole Samolis, owner of The Events Co., an event planning company.
