Grahame Beale, Chief Executive of Nationwide Building Society has been elected as chairman of the Building Societies Association for the 2009-10 year. He replaces John Goodfellow, former Chief Executive of Skipton Building Society, who has held the post for the past year. Richard Hornbrook, Chief Executive of Chelsea Building Society, was elected Deputy Chairman, a role previously filled by Graham Beale.
In the press release announcement Beale flagged a continuance of the same policies. He said:
