GREEN-fingered pupils at a Birmingham girls' school have been rewarded for their efforts in helping to safeguard the environment.
Swanshurst School, in Brook Lane, Billesley, has been awarded a gold award by the Woodland Trust for getting involved in green activities ranging from tree planting and recycling to reducing carbon emissions.
The new green initiative, launched by the Woodland Trust this year, offers schools the opportunity to bring the great outdoors and the world of wildlife into the classroom with a range of resources and a new award scheme.
