A judge has struck down an attempt by the Macy's Department Store at the Carousel Center to collect more than $50 million from the mall's owner in a dispute over the building's expansion.
State Supreme Court Judge John Cherundolo, in a decision released last week, rejected a request by the store's owners -- Macy's Retail Holdings Inc. and Kaufmann's Carousel Inc. -- for more than $50 million in compensation for extra costs the store will incur as a result of the mall's expansion.
