THIS summer's total eclipse of the sun promises to be one of the most spectacular natural events of a lifetime - and now is the time to book your perch. On Wednesday, July 22, the moon will move between the sun and the earth, plunging swathes of Asia and the Pacific ocean into daytime darkness.

The eclipse will last more than six minutes - the longest for several hundred years - and won't be surpassed until 2132.
