- NTPC (BSE:532555), the country's largest power producer, is set to invest around Rs 10,000 crore (US$2.105 billion) for two of its power plants in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
The money will be used to augment capacity by 1,000 mw in the Simhadri plant in Andhra Pradesh and create fresh capacity of 1,000 mw in the Vallur plant at Tamil Nadu by 2010.
- The government plans to allow three public sector banks United Bank of India, Dena Bank (BSE:532121) and Bank of Maharashtra (BSE:532525) to tap markets to boost their capital base so that they can lend ...
