ABOUT 40 South Peninsula residents demanding action to resolve the continuing baboon problem in their area braved the cold and rain early today during a lively placard protest outside the Westlake headquarters of the Table Mountain National Park.
The protesters ranged from people vehemently opposed to the baboons - a protected species on the Peninsula - to ardent baboon conservationists.
Many of their placards called for the urgent and permanent appointment of sufficient baboon monitoring teams to keep the animals out of urban areas.
