Ronald Kirk is the United States Trade Representative. From 1995 to 2002, he was mayor of Dallas, Texas. He ran for the U.S. Senate for a seat being vacated by Phil Gramm in 2002, but lost to Texas Attorney General John Cornyn. He then joined the Houston law firm of Vinson & Elkins.
