"The Jewish People: A Story of Survival" is a one hour PBS documentary now available on home video. It provides a speedy overview of Jewish history from Abraham to the founding of the modern State of Israel. The last 60 years are missing, but it's not like there hasn't been a film on almost any topic you'd want to discuss concerning Jews in modern times.
For relatively well-informed Jews, this is a pretty documentary. Lots of beautiful art is used to illustrate the various stories. (The deeply religious will no doubt object to the use of what appears to be an open Torah scroll as the backdrop for the opening and closing credits). ...
