San Diego's high-tech charm has attracted a European suitor.
Teknologian Kehittamiskeskus (TEKES), or Finland Technology Center, is courting local and statewide telecommunications firms to form joint ventures with Finnish high-techs.
"San Diego is raising its importance very fast in the telecommunications industry," said Bror Salmelin, vice counsel/technology attache for TEKES in Los Angeles. "It's our prediction it will raise more of an importance than the Bay Area. San Diego will probably be the most important area in California.
