Chennai, May 30 -- "Nobody should aspire for any posts or power. It should come to you and you should not go after them. Make sacrifices but do not expect rewards." This is what M K Stalin, Tamil Nadu's newly appointed deputy Chief Minister, said on his 55th birthday last year, on March 1.
Just over a year later, the coveted post that places him just a notch below the Chief Minister has come to him. But for the teenager, who started a youth wing of the DMK with a group of like-minded friends, way back in 1968 at Gopalapuram, it has been a long and tumultous journey.
