Gold's Gym opened a 60,000-square-foot fitness center on May 20 in Chesapeake Square, which it says is its largest gym in Hampton Roads.
The company spent nearly $10 million on its Family Fitness Center at Chesapeake Square, at 4628 Portsmouth Blvd., Gold's spokeswoman Jacqueline Jackson said.
Gold's intends to hire up to 100 people to work at the center, it said in a news release.
The gym's amenities include hundreds of exercise machines, three pools, a "cardio cinema room," racquetball and basketball courts, a physical therapy and chiropractic rehabilitation center, and a "Kids Playroom," featuring mazes and video games.
