If you have ever felt like escaping the 21st century and returning to an earlier, possibly simpler era, you could do worse than traveling to Fez, a city virtually unchanged from its mediaeval glory days when it was the Imperial Capital of the Moroccan Empire. Even though it is an important Moslem city and its current Jewish population is tiny, because of its important Jewish history, many Moroccans still refer to Fez as a "Jewish city."
