Bhopal, May. 30 -- Madhya Pradesh experienced slight relief from scorching summer with light rainfall occurring at several places especially in north-eastern parts.
Regional Meteorological Department's spokesperson said light rainfall occurred in Rewa, Jabalpur, Sagar, Gwalior and Chambal divisions overnight.
Light rainfall was predicted at isolated places in all divisions in the next 24 hours. Showers accompanied by strong winds was expected at isolated places in the next 48 hours.
A high of 40.4 degree Celsius, two notches below normal, was reported in the state capital.
