Bangalore, May. 30 -- The Central Crime Branch police have successfully rescued a kidnapped teenage girl, after the police shot at a culprit.
Police said 17-year-old Bhavi Mehta, student of Sri Bhagwan Mahavir Jain College, was abducted by a six-member gang while returning from college yesterday. The culprits demanded a ransom of Rs one crore for her release.
Her father Sanjay Mehta filed a police complaint, immediately after receiving the call for ransom and police swung into action and succeeded in nabbing one culprit.
Inspector Umesh opened fire at the culprit, Karthik, when he tried to attack him with a sickle in an attempt to escape. The ...
