Chennai, May. 31 -- In a pioneering move, the Tamil Nadu government today decided to provide concessions to new industries based on the number of jobs generated, instead of quantum of investments.
This was disclosed by Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin a day after he was entrusted with industries portfolio, hitherto held by Chief Minister and his father M Karunanidhi.
Talking to reporters after a review meeting with Industries Department authorities at the State Secretariat here, Mr Stalin said hitherto, the concession packages were being given to industries based on the quantum of investments.
