Florida is a peculiar international battleground for fuel sales, with its wholesale markets sharply differentiated by their shipping distances from Gulf Coast refiners.
It may prove frustrating to anyone with ambitious expansion plans -- overcrowded as it is with competitors who squeeze margins in Tampa on the Gulf Coast, while less crowded but pressured by imports and defended by entrenched wholesalers on the Atlantic Coast.
