Melanie Gosling quotes advice to residents from Gavin Bell (May 29). I have sympathy for his ignorance of what it is like to live with baboons.
Until baboons started seriously raiding Murdock Valley I confess I thought the residents of Welcome Glen and Da Gama Park were making an awful lot of fuss about a handful of primates.
I now take the problem a lot more seriously. I can only assume that Bell has no first-hand experience of the problem on which he offers advice. In the absence of such experience, it is his job to listen well to those people who do have it.
