Canadian independent oil company Pacific Rubiales and Colombia's state oil company Ecopetrol are close to completing a 160-mile pipeline that will bring heavy crude from the Llanos Basin east of Bogota to Colombia's main pipeline network to the north.
The pipeline connecting the Rubiales field in the Llanos Basin with the Ocensa pipeline will be completed in July, Ronald Pantin, chief executive of Pacific Rubiales said Monday.
In September, Pacific Rubiales and Ecopetrol awarded a $190 million construction contract to Spiecapag of France and Colombia's Ismocol to build the pipeline.
