THE last days of the Russian Tsar Nicholas II and his family have been reconstructed at a country house.
Filming has started at Glynllifon Mansion for an episode of a new series of Mystery Files, which will be shown on the National Geographic channel later this year.
The newly-restored mansion provided a suitably grand backdrop for scenes from the last days of the Romanov dynasty who were toppled from power in the run up to the Russian Revolution of 1917.
The 13 episodes are being produced by Barcud Derwen and Parthenon Entertainment for National Geographic's international channels.
