MUHARRAQ stormed into the semi-finals of the 35th Crown Prince Volleyball Cup, defeating six-time champions Al Nasser 20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 21-25, 16-14 at the Juffair Youth Centre last night.
Bahrain's national team star Fadhel Abbas and giant spiker Mohammed Muftah inspired Mohammed Al Murbati-coached Muharraq to a tough victory, scoring crucial points in the fifth and final set much to the delight of their supporters.
Muharraq, who won this prestigious trophy for a record 10 times, are on course towards a historic treble, having won the Goys President and League titles earlier this season.
