Jan. 5--For those whose New Year's resolutions included eating healthy and losing weight, "FryDay's" fast-food deals may have seemed like a cruel joke.
But others, no doubt, found Burger King's free french fries and McDonald's 29-cent hamburgers welcome respites from year-end financial pressures.
For most of the day Friday, people waited in drive-up lanes and lines inside stores to sample Burger King's new french fries, and to snag a bag of McDonald's familiar hamburgers at the bargain price. Limit of 10, please.
