Determination and investigation of student misconceptions in chemistry education have been very important for the last two decades. Science educators have generally agreed that the chemical misconceptions should be investigated. Understanding concept of atom and molecule is the basis of science education because the learning of other concepts like particulate nature of matter, dissolution, chemical bonding, reaction rate, acids and bases, electrochemistry, chemical equilibrium and solution chemistry are possible only with the comprehension of atom and molecule concept (Griffiths and Preston, 1992; Nakhleh, 1992).
