EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Supervalu Inc. has named former Wal-Mart Stores Inc. executive Craig Herkert its next chief executive officer.
The 49-year-old Herkert, who had been president and CEO of the Americas at Wal-Mart since 2004, will succeed Jeff Noddle, 62, Supervalu's CEO since 2001. Supervalu says Noddle will continue to serve as executive chairman for at least one year and work with Herkert during a transition period of several months.
