WORCESTER - A lot of hockey history is going by the boards this summer.
The DCU Center, home of the AHL Worcester Sharks and former home of their predecessors, the IceCats, is having an entirely new rink installed in the next three months, including new glass, new boards, new pipes and eventually, new ice.
The project, which will cost $4.7 million, will also include upgraded electrical service to the building, which last season saw the Sharks have to send a sellout crowd home early when the power failed.
