ATHOL - There have been lost cows, fugitive sheep, wandering dogs and feral roosters running around town, but this week someone should call NBC.
There's a peacock on the loose.
Since about May 28, police and Animal Control Officer Jennifer Arsenault have been pursuing the symbol of NBC television - a colorful young peacock that has been appearing in various locations around town. Although the birds are lovely to look at, they are not so easy to catch. Ms. Arsenault said she has been getting advice on dealing with the freedom-loving fowl and realizes it will be a challenge.
