WESTBOROUGH, Mass., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Electricite de France (EDF), American Superconductor Corporation (Nasdaq: AMSC), and ABB announced the signing of agreements for a $15 million, four-year, joint-development program. The purpose of the program is to accelerate the development of high temperature superconducting (HTS) wire with important new functionality for power transformers. As part of the agreement, each partner will contribute $5 million to American Superconductor for this program.
