(By Giulia Gay) In Israel the first reaction after the Lebanese unofficial results last night came from the foreign ministry. It was reported as saying that the new government in Lebanon must act to prevent attacks from its territory. "Israel considers the Lebanese government responsible for any military or otherwise hostile activity that emanates from its territory." Apart from the Jewish state, the reaction to Hariri's victory on Middle East's newspapers was quite mixed. The Asharq al Awsat, titled its headline this morning "They were broken, Lebanon wins".
