Article: CEBU CUSTOMS POSTS SURPLUS COLLECTIONS IN MAY.

CEBU CITY, June 9 Asia Pulse - The Philippines Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cebu managed to post P2.5 million (US$52,410) in surplus collections for May despite the global economic crisis that resulted in a reduction of Cebu's importations.

Port of Cebu Assistant Assessment Chief Florante Ricarte said their target collection for May is P508.64 million but they were able to collect P511.11 million last month.

The May 2009 collections are also higher than that of the same period last year, which was P465.009 million.
