Executive chef Jimmy Boyce and the rest of the staff at Loews Coronado Bay Resort thought their new general manager must be nuts. Can you imagine? A fancy, schmancy place like Loews inviting guests to make a midnight refrigerator raid in the hotel's main kitchen. What was she thinking? This simply wasn't done.
But Kathleen Cochran, 40, doesn't always go the conventional path. So, her guests did indeed raid the fridge, with kiddies in tow, and the sun rose the next day as it always had and all was well with the world - at least the world of Loews Coronado Bay Resort.
The raid, she says, turned out to be a smashing success.
