AEterna Zentaris Inc., of Quebec City, reported preliminary results for the company's European multicenter Phase II trial in non-small-cell lung cancer with its first-in-class, oral signal transduction inhibitor compound, perifosine. In 177 patients receiving radiotherapy for inoperable NSCLC, the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial assessed the radio-enhancing activity and safety of perifosine co-administration.
